Bio
Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico and raised in central Florida, her earliest memories consist of the colorful historic old San Juan and the natural wonders of the Caribbean Island as well as the swampy everglades of Florida. Studying the Humanities in New England she experienced the beauty of the changing seasons and swam in the ancient insights of Aristotle’s Poetics, and she became entranced by the calling to be an artist.
While studying abroad in Rome, her time living in the Eternal City as well as her travels to the great cities of Italy and Spain became central formative experiences. In 2020 she was the recipient of the Academy of Realist Art Boston’s Annual Scholarship Competition and began her studies there in representational art. This slow and thoughtful way of working informs her work today, exploring themes of effervescence and faith through narrative painting.
